Final Update from AADAO’s Core Contributors

The Final Update from AADAO’s Core Contributors

Following our previous update regarding the sunsetting of Atom Accelerator DAO (AADAO), we are now sharing our final message. As of today, August 1st 2025, the main wind-down process is complete, and we, the remaining AADAO Core Contributors, have officially concluded our primary roles.

From this point on, any remaining AADAO grant-related actions will be administered by AADAO Oversight (Grace), with incidental support from Interchain Labs (ICL), as needed, through the end of 2025. And for venture related commitments, Lemma Ltd will continue to hold legal title for AADAO assets and investment agreements, remaining as Trustee through the end of fiscal year 2028.

Reviewing AADAO Contributors’ Final Month

This past month, we have prioritized the following:

1. Progress in Final Grant Payments and Management Handoff

All active grants with remaining milestones will receive the scheduled funding, provided each grantee delivers upon the agreed-upon scope and relevant performance criteria. If any active grants are terminated, any and all unused balances will be added to the total amount returning to the Cosmos Hub Community Pool (Hub CP).

Starting today, Oversight and ICL will take over management of these grants to ensure proper follow-up on set milestones and deliverables. Please see here the remaining grants in progress:

2. Returning Funds to the Hub CP

All remaining funds from each of our subDAO wallets – StratComm, GrantComm, and OpsComm – have already been or are in the process of being returned to the Hub CP. Here’s the current situation:

  • All funds in StratComm have already been sent back to the Hub CP
  • Delisse and Joni will remain active signers until the end of 2025 to handle proposals on the final grant payments, operational transactions, and final returning of any leftover funds to the Hub CP
  • A limited budget remains in AADAO’s possession to cover the final operational costs, outstanding grant payments, and Lemma services. The exact amount is still being finalized as remaining grant allocations are assessed. Any unused or reimbursed funds from these final actions will be communicated transparently and returned to the Hub CP

3. Update on Venture Holdings

To ensure proper management of venture investments, we have decided to extend Lemma’s engagement as Trustee (legal title holder of AADAO investment assets) until 2028.

4. Offboarding of Contributor Roles & Infrastructure

As of today, all non-essential contributor roles and operational tools have been offboarded.

What’s Left?

As stated, Oversight will remain active in a limited capacity to coordinate final DAO actions alongside the Trustee, with incidental technical support and venture support from ICL. To support this role, Oversight will retain access to AADAO’s ClickUp, website, forum, and X (Twitter) for the remainder of the year (2025).

Finally, by the end of 2025, a wind down governance proposal will be signed to formally sunset the DAO, communicating to the community that all AADAO contributors have completed their work and will no longer be active operationally.

Looking Back

Since its launch, AADAO reviewed over 400 funding requests, issued 143 grants, and deployed $8.7M+ to accelerate development and growth across the Cosmos Hub and Atom Economic Zone. From early infrastructure to ecosystem tooling, public goods, marketing, educational initiatives, and beyond – grantees supported through AADAO have played a meaningful role in strengthening the Hub’s reach.

We are proud of what was built and especially proud of the grantees whose ideas and execution have left a lasting mark. We look forward to seeing them grow and continue to drive value in the ecosystem.

Thank You

To the Cosmos Hub community, governance participants, grantees, reviewers, and fellow contributors – thank you for supporting this experiment in accelerating driving value to the Hub. It has been a privilege.

For all historical information, proposal records, and governance discussions, please refer to the Cosmos Hub Forum and AADAO Newsroom.

With this, AADAO officially closes its chapter.

Long live ATOM!

Sincerely,

– The remaining AADAO Core Contributors
