The Cosmos ecosystem needed a secure and reliable way for parties to transact and reduce the risk of fraud and disputes. To address this, AADAO has awarded a $112,000 grant to the DreddSecure team, powered by ProductShop, to develop the SDK Escrow module. This module includes preset utility functions, a contract, and an interface to facilitate secure transactions within the Cosmos ecosystem.
The grant aims to support a wide range of use cases, including cross-chain asset swaps, decentralized marketplaces, and peer-to-peer lending. By enhancing transaction security, the module is expected to increase usability and adoption, attracting a diverse user base. It should create a secure, reliable, and widely usable escrow module, enhancing transaction safety and fostering greater trust within the Cosmos ecosystem.
Update: In the latest stages of development, it became apparent that maintenance would be troublesome, and the number of use cases was very limited. There were also security concerns and questions about the Hub’s neutrality in accepting such a module through governance. Due to this, the project was discontinued. In the future, it may be reconsidered with a different approach, possibly as a CosmWasm module rather than a Go module.
