To address the complex and nuanced governance challenges within the Cosmos Hub, AADAO has awarded a grant of $60,000 to the Mission Publiques/RnDAO team to conduct comprehensive research and propose solutions.
This grant, dubbed the ‘Cosmozens Research Pilot Program’, aims to foster collaboration across disciplines and sectors to achieve specific goals, including presenting a proposal to tackle governance issues, positioning the Cosmos Hub as a leader in large-scale collaboration, and establishing a sustainable business model for a deliberative approach.
Governance is a fundamental aspect of the Cosmos Hub’s culture and the broader Cosmos ecosystem. This research, particularly focusing on the “ICS Contracting” topic for deliberative governance, was strategically chosen to enable timely community feedback and align with the ATOM Tokenomics RFP conducted concurrently.
The inclusion of a milestone to design UI sketches and roadmaps, leveraging a co-applicant of the grant’s expertise as a former product designer at Quicken and Notion, will address the lack of a Web3 technology roadmap. This comprehensive approach will not only enhance the deliberative process but also aims to leave a lasting impact on the Cosmos Hub.
Update: AADAO has decided to discontinue its funding for the Mission Publiques/RnDAO led project ‘Cosmozens Research Pilot Program’. The project team was unable to complete the milestone related to publishing its methodolgy to select participants into sortitions in a reasonable timeframe, and there was a general lack of community support, which were both factors. Research proposals like this will require a preliminary temperature check on the Cosmos forum to gauge their viability in the future.
