RnDAO can reduce the pain of debate and decision making within Cosmos by shifting the debate into the more productive area of shared needs and by opening it up to the quiet voices of the community. We will use a combination of our own white glove services and the tooling we are building to:
– Crowdsource a list of well-formed problem statements
– Curate and simplify that list
– Gather concrete input about the priority of those problem statements
– Display the resulting prioritized problem listAs part of this process, we will also capture data to demonstrate the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of this approach.
We will use this funding and user feedback to extend the tooling we use for this, to the benefit of the Web3 ecosystem as a whole. Our research suggests that a DAO can improve the internal sense of openness and effective collaboration by gathering community input on problems and solutions separately. We seek to put our belief into practice with a expert-facilitated process and light-weight tooling. If it’s effective, implementing this within your DAO will produce measurable improvements in both the community health and the ability of the DAO to make good decisions. This proposal builds on our research into the pain of decisions in DAOs. In our synthesis of the interviews and stories from today’s DAOs, we uncovered five root causes:
1. Combining problems and solutions
2. No prioritization
3. Scattered debate
4. Uncertainty about sentiment
5. No structure to the conversation
This proposal tackles the first root cause, by supporting a debate about problems that community members know personally and understand. It also begins to work on the second problem, No Prioritization, by placing problem statements in a tool that DAO members can use in a light-weight way.
